Paityn Covolo and Jada Bohm sign NLIs for women’s wrestling at Iowa Western CC: Two Sheridan High School Girls Wrestlers have made history by becoming the first to make their college decisions, where they will continue to compete in the sport they love.

Paityn Covolo and Jada Bohm have both signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to wrestle at Iowa Western Community College.

Covolo is this year’s Wyoming State Champ at 135 pounds.

She started wrestling in 5th grade but did not compete her freshman and sophomore years of high school.

Povolo adds that when the varsity wrestling program started at Sheridan HS, it reignited her spark to compete, and even though college wrestling is a different style than what she is used to (freestyle vs. folkstyle), she is willing to continue competing .

Povolo added that she is considering studying criminal justice.

Bohm was the East Regional Runner-up and placed 6th at this year’s state wrestling meet in the 235-pound weight class.

She says she started competing her freshman year of high school and quickly got the hang of it.

Bohm adds that she is considering studying business administration.

Iowa Western Community College is located in Council Bluffs, across the Iowa-Nebraska border from Omaha.

The Lady Reiver wrestling program recently completed its third season of competition.
