WVU Football gets commitment from veteran JUCO TE

WVU Football gets commitment from veteran JUCO TE

West Virginia gets the depth they’ve been looking for as a junior college announces its commitment to the Mountaineers. Gregory Genross commits himself a few days after visiting the WVU football program.

Genross (6-foot-1, 230 pounds), a junior college tight end from Dodge City Community College in Kansas, fits the bill perfectly for a player looking to improve his game after a few seasons of post-high school football. On Sunday, Genros returned from an official visit to West Virginia this weekend.

Genros, a John F. Kennedy High School product from New City, N.Y., made 16 receptions for 173 yards and scored two touchdowns in 2023. He recorded 26 catches for 265 yards and three scores overall in two seasons with Dodge City.

West Virginia also pursued Genros last year, as did Mississippi State, but he ultimately stayed on for another season of junior college football. Genros also currently has offers from Marshall, South Alabama and Western Kentucky.

At the tight end position under coach Blaine Stewart, the Mountaineers are counting on another solid season from Kole Taylor and increased production from Treylan Davis.
